Posting from daddy....Things I Learned from My Daughter (Part 1)

Belle will be 4 year old in two months. One thing that I normally do at night is putting her to sleep. Last night, as usual, I read one of her new books On the Night You Were Born and once we're done we ready to say a prayer.

I asked her what she wanted to prayed about. She said that she didn't want to have another dream of the evil queen she watched in Sleeping Beauty movie that just came out few weeks ago. But the problem is that she likes watching it. She watches it every night and twice a day on weekends. She likes the part where the princess Aurora was dragged out of her room by a ghosty green smoke, climbed out her castle and finally touched the spindle spelled by the evil queen.

I told her that if she doesn't want to have another dream about the queen, she should stop watching it. Those scenes sticked to her mind and played over and over again. But she insisted to watch it again despite the fact that I just bought her the Tinker Bell movie (maybe I should stop feeding her fantacies...o)

Isn't that obvious that we often pray to God about something yet we don't play our part of accomplishing what we pray about? We treat prayer as a magical act from God to do what we should be doing at the first place.

Sleeping Beauty Movie

We have been watching this movie every day now. Belle said she likes this movie so much although almost every night she would have a nightmare about Malificent.

Bird House

Belle's First Uniform

Children's Museum

This Saturday, we took Belle to La Habra Children's Museum in La Habra. It was our first visit. Enjoy the pictures while we were there.

Fourth of July Weekend

Belle did not really know what 4th of July was but she knew that mommy and daddy did not have to go to work that day. We spent time together on Newport Beach in the morning then watched the fireworks at the high school near our home at night.

The next day, we went to Irvine Regional Park. We went for a train ride, then the boat paddle. Belle really enjoyed the train ride, especially considering she likes train so much. She also enjoyed the boat paddle.

On Saturday night, we went for dinner with my uncle's family who came from Indonesia a week ago. Belle got lots of goodies, not to mention the attention that she got from my aunt. Just check these pictures.

The next day, Belle went to church for a Family Funday Sunday. They had a bouncing house for the kids although Belle did not really like it but she got in anyway.

Since Belle is older now, we took her to Colorado for vacation. There were meltdowns here and there during our trip but overall, we enjoyed spending time together.

Exercise

Playground at Church

Finally... the playground is open, after the long 9 weeks. Belle loves to play the slide. These are some of the pictures:

Summer is here.....

It still spring time but it feels a lot like summer. Belle was excited to go swimming with her daddy. She was ready to walk down to the swimming pool:

Belle's Favorite Food

Belle's favorite food is macaroni and cheese. Recently, she has been helping grandma mixing the cheese and the macaroni altogether. Here are some of the pictures taken by my camera again.

Car Trip

Whenever we go, wherever we go, Belle always ask what can she eat while sitting in the car? I need to bring 2-3 different type of snack just because she often said she got tired with my first or second offer. These are 2 pictures that I took during our way home from church last Sunday, Belle and her Froot Loops.

One Saturday

Every Saturday afternoon, Belle refused to take a nap. She always says that she wants to play with mommy (great.... she thinks mommy never get tired). Well, while daddy is napping, usually Belle would play with me. This Saturday, we were playing puzzle and... guess what, Belle tried to eat marshmallow for the very first time.

Belle and Elden

Today is a busy Sunday for Belle. It started off with church at 8:30 AM and then we headed to Rose Hills to visit Belle's grandpa graveyard. Actually, prior to that, we stopped by McDonalds to grab egg muffin for breakfast. After we went and visited Grandpa's graveyard, we went to Kim Ky Noodle. Belle loves noodle so much. She said she does not like "bakmi", she likes "mie" instead.... notice the difference :o) Then, we went to Grandma's house. While we were there, Belle's cousin, Elden came for a visit. Egg Hunting

This morning, we went to NLBC Sunday School Picnic for Egg Hunting. Belle was having a blast. She had so much fun looking for eggs while mommy and daddy were busy talking to friends :o)
Thanks to She Mu, who assisted Belle finding those eggs although it was not hard to locate them though... it was pretty much all over the place. Belle was able to meet new friends too. She could not stop talking about it. Thank you to NLBC Sunday School teachers too for allowing Belle to join the Egg Hunting event. Happy Easter everyone.

Special Saturday

Today is one of the special Saturday for Belle (today, her name is Ord, the blue dragon character from Dragontales). Want to see how he looks like? There he is...

We went to Discovery Cube in the morning and play in Clifford Exhibit and also we played how to make bubble out of the soap. These are some of the pictures taken by my handy camera phone. Belle's dad also want to be in the pictures too so there are a few of his poses in this slideshow. Enjoy!!!

After dinner, we went to Target to buy another set of the alphabetical wooden puzzle for Belle. She has been telling me that she could not arrange her own name cause she only has one set of alphabetical puzzle. She could only arrange B E L, she needed another L and E for her name. After we got home, she immediately open the new puzzle and took the one that she has, and arranged her own name, B E L L E.

Favorite Ride

We went to Borders Bookstore at South Coast last Saturday. After a while Belle got bored and asked me to take her outside. As we walked by, she said she wanted to get into the elevator so we decided to go to the upper level. When we sat up there, Belle asked, "Is that a Merry Go Round, mommy?" She saw something that went in circle, the red stuff but I could not see clearly what's there. Then, I suggested her to go to lower level, she agreed. As we approached the "thing" that we saw from upstairs, it was really a smaller version of merry-go-round. Since it's small, Belle could ride by herself. Actually she really rode by herself, no other kid around. She really enjoyed it, that's her favorite ride. Below is when she rode another one at the Main Place Mall a few months ago.

Belle's Grandpa

Even though Belle was too young to remember grandpa, I tried to remind her whenever we got a chance. Grandpa was very proud of Belle. He showed Belle's pictures around to his friends and relatives. In fact, I tried to ask her to visit grandpa's graveyard once in a while. Belle knows that grandpa is now in Heaven and she also knows that whenever she comes and visit grandpa's graveyard, that place's name is Rose Hill.

Gendut, Nemo, etc etc...

Last week, you wanted us to call you "gendut" (aka big tummy in English) because you have been eating a lot. This week, your name is changed to Nemo, just because you just finished watching the "Finding Nemo" movie last Sunday. I think you are full of imagination. Sometimes you even swam in the carpet pretending to be Nemo. You called me, Dori, the blue fish that helped Nemo's dad looking for the lost Nemo. You called daddy Marlyn, Nemo's dad. Unfortunately, Nemo does not have a grandma, so you still call grandma. Let's see how are you going to name yourself next week after we finish watching other movies :o)

Belle and Disney Movies

Belle has been watching a lot of Disney cartoons ever since the President's Day weekend. Actually, she started watching the Surf's Up movie by Sony, a gift from my former coworker. She liked it. Then we started letting her watch Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Snow White, and now... she is watching Oliver & The Company. She usually watch the movie about 30-40 minutes at a time at our bedroom. After that, Belle usually take a bath and heading to her bedroom to sleep.
